Getting to know the Nintendo Wii August 22nd, 2009

Video games as you know them changed the day the Nintendo Wii was introduced.  The Wii is the most interactive gaming system in the world and while there are sure to be imitators spring up in the future, there is only one original Nintendo Wii gaming system.

The Wii uses a series of sensitive controllers to convey the movements of the game player to the system and turn that into game play.  There are many different kinds of controllers available for Wii game play, and most of them involve some sort of physical interaction with the game.  For example, in order to play Wii bowling you need to make the exact physical movements you would make if you were really bowling.  The physical activity makes it feel like you are really inside the game, and it adds a whole new dimension of reality.  The physical interaction even allows Nintendo to have a program called the Wii Fit, which is a physical fitness video game designed to help the participants lose weight and track their progress.

Like any good video game system the Nintendo Wii allows up to four players to play the games that operate on the system provided that the games themselves allow for multiple players.  There are sports games, adventure games, and all of the other kinds of games you would normally find on a video game system.  But what makes the Nintendo Wii unique is that some of the most popular games on the Wii would probably seem a bit boring on other systems.  Interactive bowling is one of the more popular Wii games, and another popular Wii game is a series of bar games including darts and shuffleboard.  The Wii adds an interactive quality to games that can make a game that seems boring on other systems into a completely different game on the Wii.

Along with all of this the Wii is also able to hook up to the internet through your wireless network connection, or though a network cable hard-wired into your router.  You can check the news and weather for your area, purchase games for your Wii system at the online Wii Store, and you can interact with anyone else on a Wii from anywhere in the world.  There are many interactive games that allow people to play against each other from any city or town in the world.  It takes the interactive features of the Wii and brings them up to an entirely different level.  You can also use some of the newer Wii accessories to speak to people over the Wii and share pictures.

The popularity of the Wii keeps growing as people of all ages begin to realize that they can enjoy video games and get exercise at the same time.  It is changing the way people design video games, play video games, and it has added a whole different dimension to the future of video games for people all over the world.  It is even possible to see Wii games being played in bars and taverns all over the world.  The Wii is truly catching on.

The Wii launch marked the release of Nintendo’s seventh generation video game console. This successor to the Nintendo Game Cube was released in most countries in November and December of 2006. It is the third seventh generation video game console to be released in Japan and in North America, but it was the second seventh generation gaming console in Europe, being released before the PlayStation 3. In June, 2006, during a policy briefing, Nintendo revealed its plans to release six million console units and 17 million software units during the fiscal year ending in March of 2007. Did you know that the Spanish launch of the Nintendo Wii console was moved to December 9th of 2006 due to the fact that on December 8th marked the celebration of the Immaculate Conception. Therefore, all the shops in Spain were closed. The pricing of the Nintendo Wiii console varied from country to country; for instance in the United States the Nintendo Wii sold for $250.00 and in Australia the Nintendo Wii console sold for the United States equivalent of $315. In addition, Mexico sold this video game system for the United States equivalent of $ 410.

The Nintendo Wii console is wonderful and one of its greatest games is called Wii Fit. This video game is fun because it makes exercise so fun and pleasurable that kids of all ages will forget that they are exercising. The Wii Fit is an exercise game consisting of activities using the Wii Balance Board. Training on the Wii Fit is divided into the four categories of yoga, strength training, aerobics, and balance games. It is refreshing knowing that the Wii Fit activities provide a core workout without exhausting the user. Yoga done on the Wii Fit is fun and modern Hula Hopping is excellent. Wii Accessories August 22nd, 2009

Learning About Nintendo Wii Accessories
The Nintendo Wii is one of the most innovative game systems to come along in a very long time.  When a video game system catches on such as the Wii has, it becomes customary to develop and release a line of accessories to try and take full advantage of the technology that has been created.  It is no different for the Wii, and today there are a number of accessories you can buy that will help you get the most from your Wii system.

The most basic accessory for the Nintendo Wii is the controller nunchuk.  The nunchuk is an attachment that plugs in to the back of the standard controller, and then allows you added functionality for various games that are available for the system.  Most things you would imagine you would do with two hands, such punching a punching bag or shooting a gun from each hand, are made more realistic in the video game by using the nunchuk.  If your Wii system did not come with a nunchuk then you may want to purchase one as many of the more interactive games require the nunchuk to play.

The Wii Fit program introduced something called the balance board to the line up of Wii accessories, and since the balance board was introduced it has been used as a part of another popular Wii title.  Not only is the balance board use for exercises in the Wii Fit program, it is also used as a drum pedal in the very popular Rockband video game.  It is a wireless foot board that can determine your position based on the shift of your weight, and it can also tell if you are standing on one foot and how far forward you are leaning.  It is a very simple yet sophisticated piece of video game equipment.

One of the newer Wii accessories is something known as the Wii Speak.  The Wii Speak is a piece of equipment that allows two people on a Wii system anywhere in the world to speak to each other over the internet.  The Wii Speak allows people to share photographs, and hold conversations from anywhere in the room and anywhere in the world.  The background and voice synthesizer can be changed to add some fun to the conversation, and the range on the Wii Speak can cover any large sized room.  Right now there is only a very select few video games that can allow people to use the Wii Speak and play video games at the same time, but as the technology advances new titles are being released that can take advantage of this technology.

There are some game specific accessories such as a steering wheel for driving games or a gun-shaped controller for shooting games, and they are all wireless for use with the Wii system.  Nintendo has only begun to explore the capabilities of the Wii video game system, and as they uncover new capabilities they release an accessory to take advantage of that feature.  It is hard to say just how far the scientists at Nintendo can take the technology that the Wii video game system has to offer.
